I am frightened yet again by the passing of another calendar year. They pass by no longer, but pass through. With age, my sensitivity to this planet only seems to grow. Each year is better yet more tender and heavier than the last. Steps retraced are the most cutting form of time travel. Memory is all we have. Memory is all we are. It unites and defines us.
